Refund Policy
Effective 21 May 2026
1. The short version
The setup fee is non-refundable — we start building your site within minutes of payment, so by the time the charge clears, the work is done.
The monthly subscription is cancellable at any time from your dashboard. We don’t refund the unused portion of the current month, but you keep access to your site until the period you have paid for runs out.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If we get it wrong — a major failure, a service we never delivered, a breach of a consumer guarantee — you have rights that we can’t exclude. See section 4.
2. Setup fee — non-refundable
When you complete signup, your payment of the setup fee triggers the immediate generation of your site:
- Your inputs from the signup wizard are processed.
- Our AI generates the initial copy for your site.
- Theme assets, colour palette, and content are assembled into a live, publicly-reachable website on your chosen subdomain.
- Your dashboard is provisioned.
All of that happens within minutes of payment clearing. Because the work is done at that point, the setup fee is non-refundable once we have begun work — which, in practice, is immediately at signup.
The setup fee covers:
- The one-time site generation described above.
- Provisioning of your
yourname.tradewaas.com.ausubdomain. - The compute, AI-generation, and storage costs we incur to deliver your initial site.
If you change your mind after signup, you can cancel the monthly subscription immediately (see section 3) and we won’t charge you anything further — but the setup fee is not refunded.
3. Monthly subscription — cancel anytime
Your monthly subscription renews automatically on the same calendar day each month. You can cancel from the billing section of your dashboard at any time. When you cancel:
- No refund of the current month. We don’t pro-rate. If you cancel halfway through a month, you have already been charged for the whole month and we won’t refund the unused portion.
- Your site stays live until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. After that date, the site is taken down and your subdomain is released.
- No further charges. Once you cancel, your subscription will not renew.
If you cancel and then change your mind during the same billing period, you can reactivate from your dashboard at no extra cost — the original month you paid for is still in effect.
4. Australian Consumer Law — what we can’t exclude
This refund policy does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (the “ACL”, Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL, including that they will be:
- Provided with due care and skill;
- Fit for any purpose you make known to us;
- Provided within a reasonable time, where no specific time is agreed.
If we fail to meet one of these guarantees, you are entitled to a remedy. Where the failure is “minor”, we may choose to repair, replace, or refund. Where the failure is “major” (as defined in the ACL), you may choose between cancelling the service and getting a refund of any amount you have paid that relates to the failure, or accepting a remedy from us. You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by the failure.
To exercise these rights, contact us first at admin@tradewaas.com.au with details of the issue.
Examples of when an ACL-based refund or remedy might apply:
- Your site was never actually generated after we charged you (a service we failed to deliver).
- Your site has been down for a sustained period and we have failed to fix it within a reasonable time, despite us being told about it.
- Your site is so broken or unfit for use as a tradesperson’s business website that no reasonable customer would have signed up if they had known.
If you’re not sure whether your situation is covered, contact us first — we’d rather sort it out directly than have you go to a regulator or your bank.
5. How to cancel
- Log in to your dashboard.
- Open the Billing section.
- Click Cancel subscription. You’ll be asked to confirm.
If you can’t reach your dashboard for any reason (for example, you have lost access to your email), email us at admin@tradewaas.com.au from the address on your account and we’ll handle the cancellation manually.
6. What happens after you cancel
- Until the end of the paid period — your site stays live and your dashboard remains accessible.
- At the end of the paid period — the site is taken down, your subdomain is released, and your dashboard is set to a read-only state.
- For 90 days after the period ends — your account remains in our database in a read-only state so you can log in and export your content if you need to.
- After 90 days — your account data is deleted from our active database. Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by Australian tax law (see the Privacy Policy).
If you reconnect a custom domain to a different host before the site is taken down, the dashboard will free up the domain so the new host can issue its own certificate.
7. Disputed charges & chargebacks
If you see a charge from us that you don’t recognise or that you think is wrong, please contact us first at admin@tradewaas.com.au within 30 days of the charge. We can usually resolve billing disputes within a few business days — much faster than going through your card issuer.
If you raise a chargeback with your bank instead of contacting us, your access to the service may be suspended until the chargeback is resolved. We’re happy to provide your bank with whatever evidence they need.
